Radio Ink recognizes CEO, Peter Kosann in Top 40 Most Powerful People Issue
Each year, Radio Ink Magazine, celebrating 25 years in 2017, publishes the coveted TOP 40 Most Power People in Radio. Eric Rhoads, founder and publisher of Radio Ink, says “Now more than ever, we need the powerful to provide the industry with strong leadership.” Compass Media Networks’ founder and CEO is no exception. This year ranked #39, Peter Kosann is honored to be considered in the Top 40 among radio giants such as David Field, Entercom CEO, David Price, Chairman/CEO of Townsquare Media and Jinny Morris, Chair and CEO of Hubbard Radio.
These are among the many radio group heads navigating and transcending the changing face of the radio industry. “History will view the next 18 to 36 months as a renaissance for our beloved industry as major operators recapitalize,” says Kosann. After starting the company in 2009, a few nine years ago, the former CEO of Westwood One, proudly acknowledges in the article that we have “six offices, employ 35 people, 75 partnerships for content and services, and supply product to over 5000 radio stations. Our network has a total 12+ weekly reach of over 168 million people including over 100 play-by-play sporting events.”
What radio means in a digital world is evolving daily and in the face of evolution, these 40 Most Powerful People acknowledged by Radio Ink are instrumental in the future of radio whether as station owners/operators, content creators, advertising outlets or networks. Kosann concludes confidently with this accolade, “Every day, every hour of the day, we are putting our money, blood, sweat, and tears into supporting terrestrial radio. This is a labor of love.”
