Compass just celebrated its first anniversary. Within the world of play-by-play sports, Compass Media Networks now holds the rights to:
1. Sunday NFL (details t/b/a) 2. NCAA Basketball, including the Big Ten Tournament (first 2 rounds in 2010 and then all rounds starting 2011) 3. NCAA Football
Last year Compass struck a multi-year deal with Learfield Communications (the country's leading rights holder to college sports) which enables them to have first right of refusal to acquire national rights to college games.
RBR-TVBR observation: In just 12 months, Compass has emerged as a major player in national play-by-play sports. Look for them to acquire more exclusive content in the months to come. |
